One
of the most difficult sales situations is that of "selling a
salesmen" - and in the OEM world, that is everyday life! It is impossible
to simply take these people through your typical "sales cycle" - and
expect to close a multi-million dollar deal. They can smell it if you're ill
prepared, and can see a "generic pitch" a mile away! Being prepared
and informed - not only about your product - but how it "fits" with
your potential client, is of the utmost importance - and Ray is one of the
best at it! "Personalizing" your feature benefit chart so that it is
client specific is an art - and I've seen Ray paint this picture not only at
meetings were there was plenty of time prepare - but even at trade shows -
where you have only minutes to assess the potential of the situation and at the
very least start the ball rolling!
